The PS5 Pro is selling out everywhere following GTA 6: An Extended Look

The most anticipated game in recent memory is almost upon us. Following the launch of GTA 6: An Extended Look last week, it seems gamers are hoping to play it in the best way possible, with Sony’s most powerful PlayStation console selling out everywhere in the UK.

While GTA 6: An Extended Look was captured entirely on a regular PS5, and looked seriously impressive doing so, Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 will be enhanced for the PS5 Pro, ensuring it performs and looks even better.

Rockstar is yet to reveal exactly what improvements the PS5 Pro version will have, but other PS5 Pro Enhanced games can give us some idea of what to expect. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, for example, offers 60fps gameplay, with other games offering improved ray tracing, more stable performance and better image quality.

With anticipation at an all-time high, PS5 Pro stock has started disappearing from store shelves right across the UK. We’ve rounded up everywhere you can still buy one ahead of the game’s launch on 19 November.

Where to buy a PS5 Pro in the UK

Right now, only two retailers currently have the PS5 Pro in stock. You can either lease the PS5 Pro from PlayStation Direct for £18.95 per month over 36 months, or buy the 2TB console for £789.99.

Very is the only third-party UK retailer with the console still in stock. It costs £789, and will be delivered on Monday 28 September – just in-time for the launch of GTA 6.

The PS5 Pro gains a huge performance boost over the regular PS5. The GPU boasts 67 per cent more compute units and 28 per cent faster memory, meaning you get up to 45 per cent faster rendering. It also features more advanced ray tracing and PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), which is basically Sony’s fancy AI-powered upscaling technology, delivering sharper images without being a burden on the performance.

“There's no doubt the PS5 Pro offers a great visual and performance boost to the latest games, especially as more titles release with PS5 Pro-specific enhancements, and the more than doubled storage capacity compared with the base PS5 is incredibly welcome,” said gaming correspondent Jake Brigstock in his PS5 Pro review. “It's the most powerful and, quite frankly, best home console you can buy right now.”
