We arrived at the emergency room of Desa Park City Hospital within half an hour, yet what awaited us was an agonizing wait. Hours stretched before me, feeling like an eternity. The ticking of the clock resonated with my heartbeat, each tick a reminder of time slipping away.
Fear mingled with frustration as I sat there, trapped in a whirlwind of emotions. The helplessness of not knowing what was happening to my body gnawed at my mind. Every passing second felt like an eternity, and the room seemed to close in on me, suffocating me with worry and uncertainty.
Then, just as the four golden hours since the stroke passed, my world came to a screeching halt. The full-blown damages of the stroke started to reveal themselves, and shock coursed through me. I couldn't believe what was happening in front of me and to me. It was a moment of total collapse, both physically and emotionally.
As I looked down at the my right side, a heaviness took over. My once-coordinated limbs were now unresponsive, as if they had turned against me. Panic surged within me, and I fought back tears of frustration and anger. This was not how I had envisioned my day unfolding. This was not the reality I was prepared to face.
The realization hit me like a ton of bricks. The stroke had stolen a part of me, and I was left grappling with the aftermath. My mind raced searching for answers, grasping at the fragments of normalcy that had been shattered. In that moment, the walls of the emergency room seemed to close in even tighter, amplifying the overwhelming wave of emotions crashing over me.
I replayed the timeline in my mind, each moment of delay haunting me.
