I don't think it is impossible for people to love you if you don't have money, even in the degenerate state of capitalism that we live in, but I do think that it is difficult.

If you love someone, you will want them to be happy, and if you want people to be happy in a capitalistic world, you will leave them capital.

They say the road to perdition is paved with good intentions. Following this line of thinking, I can see how capitalism might have become degenerate.

In the beginning , I think that a capitalist might have just wanted to love and be loved. They accumulated capital to enable them to love and be loved, but then the love part got forgotten, and all that remained is the capital accumulation part.

I think one way of looking at the degenerate state of capitalism today, is that it is a state where everybody is busy collecting capital, but nobody is loved.

Capitalists have a tendency to assume that they ought to be loved because they have collected enough capital to be loved, but that you are willing to participate in the traffic of capital alone is not sufficient guarantee that you will be able to love or be worthy of love.

When the capitalist are not loved although they think they deserve to be loved, they become frustrated.

In their frustration they will collect even more capital and try to love in an even more intense manner, to the point that they will use their capital to save everything from endangered species to the future generations to the entire planet, but the more they try to love everything, not only will they still not feel that they are loved, they might even find themselves resented, by the very people that they love, because their relentlessness in accumulating capital has caused everyone - even those whose love they desire - to suffer.

When the capitalist are resented although they have tried so hard to be loved, they will feel unappreciated and used.

When they feel unappreciated and used, the will take refuge in the only thing that they know, which is their ability to accumulate capital.

When capitalists single mindedly dedicate their entire life to accumulating capital, they will mire everyone in debt, which in turn will cause wars that will destroy the capitalist world.

The tragedy of it all is that the capitalist probably didn't even start off wanting to destroy the world.

All they wanted was to love and be deserving of love, but they just tried too hard and they were too narrow and one dimensional in their approach, so it went wrong.
