With their schedules for this year already filling up, McFly stars Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher have quit their joint coaching role on The Voice UK, according to reports.
The bandmates have worked as a team to pick mentees on the two most recent series of ITV’s talent contest – the latest of which hasn’t even aired yet – but after just two stints in the show’s spinning chairs, the pair have reportedly called it a day.
A source told The Sun that while bosses hoped to book the duo for the 15th series, the musicians’ busy schedules mean they’ll be unavailable.
“Tom and Danny loved their time on the show, but a full series is a huge commitment,” they said. “Tom is back and forth from New York, working on taking Paddington: The Musical over there from London’s West End – and he’s also in and out of the studio writing the eighth McFly album with Danny.
“As much as they would have liked to return to The Voice, sadly it’s impossible.”
The Independent has contacted ITV for comment.
The news comes as it remains unclear whether the broadcaster will also need to find a new host for The Voice UK.
Emma Willis has fronted the show since 2014, but with the former Big Brother presenter set to lead the all-new Strictly Come Dancing presenting team, she may also be unavailable when filming commences this autumn.

The Voice UK’s 14th series is expected to air this autumn.
It will see Jones and Fletcher return as coaches alongside the show’s longtime mentors will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones, as well as newbie Kelly Rowland.
While the show has never come close to replicating the success ITV once had with Pop Idol and The X Factor, it has discovered a handful of acts who have gone on to have an impact on the UK charts.
Lose Control singer Becky Hill got her big break when she was picked to be on Jessie J’s team in series one, making it to the semi-final before leaving the competition, before future comedy star Jordan Gray made history as the programme’s first transgender contestant in 2016.
