While The White Lotus Season 4 is still in its early stages of production and details are limited, news has just been released that the filming location for the upcoming season will be in Europe – more specifically, Saint-Tropez.
The White Lotus Season 4 filming location revealed
One of the shocking things in this new update from Variety is that this new location will not be heavily focused on a Four Seasons property but rather, Airelles’ Chateau de la Messardiere.

As many know, HBO’s The White Lotus has had what people have coined the “The White Lotus Effect,” meaning that wherever the location takes place, there has been a surge in tourism and overall searches for travel and stays at the properties. A prime example is Season 3, where the primary setting was Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, along with Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas and Rosewood Phuket. These resorts experienced a surge in demand, resulting in overtourism.
Seasons 1 and 2 also took place at Four Seasons Maui and Four Seasons Taormina, respectively. There’s no indication of the reason for the switch, and given the show’s multi-location format, a Four Seasons property might even still be in the cards.

Airelles Saint-Tropez, Château de La Messardière, will not disappoint as the main location for The White Lotus Season 4; however, as it was awarded “Palace status” back in 2021, and the entire property gives off a fairytale-like vibe due to the 19th-century château styling. The entire property sits on a hilltop which overlooks Saint-Tropez and the surrounding vineyards. Filming is expected to take place from late April to the end of October this year, so expect more reveals – from the cast to the theme – as the filming dates near.
