The world’s first Muslim-friendly cruise, that boosts not just 100% Halal food but also dedicated prayer spaces and entertainment tailored to the Muslim community, will be setting sail from Port Klang, Malaysia, on 29 November (Saturday).
According to a report by Metro UK and Travel Weekly Asia, the M/V Piano Land, which is also the first Chinese cruise ship to be homeported in Malaysia, is aimed towards supporting Malaysia’s goal of becoming a global champion in Muslim-friendly tourism.

“Malaysia’s strength in Muslim-friendly travel now extends to the open seas,”
“With Piano Land, we’re showing that luxury cruising can align seamlessly with Halal values, inclusive hospitality and cultural respect. It’s a proud reflection of Malaysia’s readiness to welcome travellers of all backgrounds with warmth and authenticity,” shared Managing Director of Hwajing Travel & Tours, Kenny Cheong.
What to expect from the cruise ship
The cruise, partnered between Astro Ocean Cruise and Hwajing Travel & Tours, will spend 3 days and 2 nights travelling between Port Klang and Penang. The 4-day and 3-night cruise, on the other hand, will also cover Langkawi.
With about 880 cabins that can accommodate 1,760 guests, people can expect international cuisines that are 100% Halal, mocktails and other non-alcoholic beverages, religious facilities, wellness workshops, as well as Muslim-friendly and family-friendly entertainment.
There’s even Halal afternoon tea slots!
