Having been released exclusively in China in December of 2022, one of the most anticipated and seemingly innovative smartphones of recent memory is finally making its way across the world. The Xiaomi 13 Pro, the company's latest top-of-the-line flagship, has just launched worldwide.
The latest series marks the second time Xiaomi has collaborated with the premium camera company, Leica. A hallmark name within the photography industry, Leica is best known for their luxury premium rangefinder cameras, often costing up to RM 41,000.
Xiaomi 13 Pro

Pairing Leica's expertise with cameras and Xiaomi's technological innovations, the Xiaomi 13 Pro boasts an impressive Type-1 inch camera sensor that allowed them to create arguably one of the best camera systems in smartphones yet. With a 50MP f/1.8 OIS (optical image stabilisation) main camera, it promises impressive, even DSLR-quality shots. In addition to that, there is also a 75mm-equivalent 50MP 3.2x OIS telephoto lens, as well as a 14mm-equivalent 50MP f/2.2 ultrawide lens. There's also a 32MP selfie cam on the front.
Beyond the cameras, however, you'll find an amazing flagship phone. The 6.73 inch AMOLED screen has a 3200×1400 resolution with a 120hz refresh rate. Underneath that you'll find a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, with options for up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage.
The 4820mAh battery can easily last you the whole day, and it can be topped up with either the 50W wireless charging (charged to full in 38 minutes) or the 120W wired charging (charged to full in just 19 minutes).
Other various features include the Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, an IP68 water and dust resistance, and up to 8K video recording at 24fps.
Xiaomi 13

But it’s not just the Xiaomi 13 Pro that's coming to Malaysia, its base model will be as well. The Xiaomi 13 sports similar specs to that of the Pro model, with the biggest exception being the lack of the Type-1 inch sensor main camera as well as having a smaller 6.36 inch screen.
Other than that, they both share the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, have the same 32MP front facing camera, the same IP68 rating, and relatively similar battery and charging power (though the Pro is slightly faster).
Xiaomi 13 Lite

The news didn't stop there, as Xiaomi also announced what could be considered the little brother of the Xiaomi 13 series. The Xiaomi 13 Lite has considerably weaker specs compared to the more expensive models, but it still more than makes up for it with its relatively affordable price tag.
Instead of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, it has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, which is more than capable of handling everything but the most demanding tasks. The screen isn't anything to ignore either, as it is a 6.55 inch 1080×2400 resolution AMOLED display.
Unfortunately, the cameras in this particular phone were not developed in direct partnership with Leica, but the specs themselves sound good enough for a phone within this price range. It has dual front-facing cameras, a 32MP selfie cam and an 8MP depth sensor. And in the back you'll find its 50MP main camera, a 20MP ultrawide, as well as a 2MP macro lens. In terms of battery, there is a 4500mAh battery that claims to be able to charge to full within 40 minutes thanks to its 67W charging.
Xiaomi also hasn’t officially announced the release of the Xiaomi 13 Lite in Malaysia.
