Thieves have become so fearless in the city that they are now targeting even the homes of judges, showing little regard for law and order.
In a recent incident, a theft was reported at the residence of Judicial Magistrate Amit Bakshi in BRS Nagar’s C-Block. The complaint was lodged at the Sarabha Nagar police station by his gunman, ASI Jaswinder Pal.
In his complaint, ASI Jaswinder Pal stated that he serves as the gunman for Judge Amit Bakshi. On June 27, the judge left the city on station leave. The following day, after receiving a call from the judge, Jaswinder Pal visited the residence in BRS Nagar’s C-Block and found the house ransacked. Suspecting a theft, he immediately reported the matter to the Sarabha Nagar police.
The SHO of Sarabha Nagar police station said that a bicycle worth around Rs 40,000, silver articles and cash were stolen from the house.
“We are examining CCTV footage from the area and hope to identify and arrest the accused soon," the SHO said.
The incident has raised serious concerns over the deteriorating law-and-order situation, with thieves appearing bold enough to target even the residence of a judicial officer.
