A recent incident has caught the attention of many netizens after a woman was raided by Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (JAIS) while staying at a budget hotel.
@harszan took to her TikTok to share what happened, saying that when she arrived at the hotel, she decided to take a shower and showed how the bathroom door was right next to the main door of the room.
“Who could be pranking me right now?”
Harszan went on to explain how, while she was in the shower, she was shocked by loud knocking on her front door. She was so confused, wondering if the person might have knocked on the wrong room.
She called out from the bathroom, asking who it was, and the person replied that they were from JAIS.
“I thought to myself, who would be pranking me at this time of night?”
She continued to express her confusion, wondering why JAIS would target her, especially since she was alone.
“Even though I was confused, I understood they were just doing their job, checking for anything suspicious.”
“If you don’t open this door, we will break it down”
Harszan then told them to wait as she needed to get dressed before opening the door. However, she revealed that the JAIS officers started getting angry, telling her they’d count to 10, and if she didn’t open the door, they’d have to break it down.
When she finally opened the door, she mentioned that the JAIS officers were surprised to see her wearing a headscarf and asked if she was a man or a woman.
Even though she told them she was a woman, they were still sceptical and asked for her IC to confirm. Once they checked, they said,
“We thought you were a man, no wonder it took you forever to open the door. You should’ve just told us you were a woman.”
“I’m not angry with JAIS, I just think it’s a funny experience”
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Harszan cleared up that she wasn’t angry at JAIS for their honest mistake. She said she actually found the whole thing pretty funny and just wanted to share the experience online for her own amusement.
“Also, I want to advise others that when you’re travelling, try to find a good hotel. Don’t just pick a cheap one to save money. Focus on your comfort and privacy first.”
