She wrote, “Others are trading so you want to trade also. Please don’t just think about getting rich. Aduhai.”

Many netizens shared their thoughts

This opened up an entire conversation about how Ramadan bazaar vendors allegedly aren’t serious business owners but people who merely want to make a buck during Ramadan, leading them to make and sell food and drinks without integrity.

“Fact: Ramadan bazaars are for people who are not from the F&B (food and beverage) industry to do business. So, many jump in for the sake of making money.”

“Even those without (food preparation) skills will just participate. There are those who just watch YouTube videos and try 1 to 2 dishes before opening a stall. Even with workers, they’ll take whoever they can get.”

“Have you noticed that it storms during Ramadan bazaars every year? It’s because of vendors who just want to make a profit rather than submit to Allah.”

“Even while the chicken is still raw, they sold it because they want to be quick. They’re thinking that it’s not themselves that are eating it, what’s important is that they make money.”

“Take a look at all of their equipment, their woks and their containers. If it looks new, they may be ‘mock’ vendors who do business once a year at bazaars.”
