An unexpected incident during Coldplay’s recent concert in Boston, USA, has ignited intense public scrutiny around Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his personal life in the most unexpected way.
The band’s signature “Kiss Cam” captured Byron, who had Kristin Cabot, Astronomer’s Chief People Officer, being comfortable in her arms, until they decided to turn away from the camera instantly. Their actions prompted Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay jokingly respond,
“Either they’re having an affair, or they’re very shy.”
The crowds cheered and burst out in laughter as Kristin covered her face while Byron squatted down to avoid the signature “Kiss Cam.” Chris Martin seemingly had no idea of the secret affair that he single-handedly exposed, and regardless of how they tried to shield themselves from the camera, Byron and Kristin became the talk of the town.
The video has gained massive traction on social media, with many expressing sympathy for Byron’s wife. While some have questioned their “questionable” behaviour in a public setting.
In a report by Variety, the New York-based Astronomer has not responded to a request for comment. Astronomer is a data infrastructure company that helps businesses manage their data pipelines, and Bryon has been leading the organisation since July 2023.
The video is circulating on TikTok.
Byron, however, had allegedly responded via a statement, to which he apologised to the public but subtly blamed Coldplay for the moment, “which should’ve been private.”
“You deserve better from me as a partner, father, leader.”
“It should’ve been a private moment, which became public without my consent.”
At the time of writing (July 18), Byron and Kristin are still listed under the management team of Astronomer based on its official website. The organisation, however, has not responded to the viral matter.
