This Could've Been Avoided!" 23-Year-Old Man In Kelantan Tragically Buried Alive After Falling Into A Newly Dugged 6-Metre Well

Tragedy struck at the Kampung Gelam Mosque in Tok Uban, Pasir Mas, as a young well-digger lost his life in a devastating accident yesterday on the 15th of April. Identified as Mohamad Khairul Jeffry Maarof, aged 23, he met his untimely demise while working on a newly dug well. Due to the persistent water crisis affecting the state, the operation was initiated with urgency. Regrettably, tragedy struck during the course of the operation.

Pasir Mas fire and rescue station operations commander, Adnan Mat Juri, revealed that the incident occurred during the lowering of a cement ring into the well. Upon receiving an emergency call at 5:54 PM, a team of 10 firefighters responded to the scene shortly after.

Upon arrival at 6:17 PM, responders found Mohamad Khairul buried under the rubble approximately 6 meters deep in the well. Despite the valiant efforts of both firefighters and members of the public, who assisted in the rescue operation, the victim was pronounced dead by medical personnel at 7:15 PM.
