This Dr Sam’s serum lightened stubborn sun spots in just a week

Dr Sam’s is a skincare brand that has gained huge momentum in recent years, thanks to its range of simple yet effective formulas that aim to treat skincare concerns such as blemishes, pigmentation, uneven texture or fine lines and wrinkles. They even work for those with sensitive skin – something that can’t be said for all skincare these days.

One of Dr Sam’s latest products, the flawless brightly pro serum, is designed to help pigmentation and uneven skin tone. It combines eight active ingredients, including azelaic acid, that come together to fade dark marks, even skin tone and smooth texture. Suitable for daily use, it’s fragrance-free and non-comodogenic, making it the perfect addition to your skincare routine if you have pigmentation to target.

But what’s it actually like? After testing the serum, beauty expert, Nessa Humayun, said: “I saw results in as little as one week, and it managed to even lighten my stubborn sun spots. Plus, it’s gentle enough for sensitive skin too; I noticed no adverse reactions during my two months of daily use.”

Here is Nessa’s verdict on whether Dr Sam’s flawless brightly pro serum should be your next skincare investment.

At £64 for a 30ml bottle, this serum certainly has a more premium price tag compared to other formulas on the market, but for good reason.

Combining two fan-favourite ingredients: azelaic acid that helps reduce blemishes, redness and dark marks, and niacinamide that strengthens the skin barrier and improves skin tone, it claims to “improve skin tone consistently while remaining gentle and minimising the risk of irritation.”

There’s also the addition of bakuchiol, a plant-based ingredient that is a more gentle alternative to retinol.

Nessa says: “This serum targets three common forms of pigmentation: UV damage, post-acne pigmentation and hormonal pigmentation. It works across nine pathways and three stages of pigment formation, helping to regulate excess melanin production, limit pigment transfer and discourage new pigmentation from forming, rather than simply fading what’s already there.”

In terms of how to incorporate the serum into your skincare routine, Dr Sam’s recommends adding it as a step after you cleanse. It advises to start using it every other day, building up to daily use after two weeks. Simply apply one pump all over, avoiding the eye area and lips, before gently massaging it into the skin. Afterwards, continue with your usual routine, with moisturiser and SPF.

Is Dr Sam’s flawless brightly pro serum worth it?

According to Nessa, this serum managed to deliver results within as little as one week, and even on her sensitive skin, she saw improvements in her pigmentation. With that in mind, it’s clear that Dr Sam’s flawless brightly pro serum is absolutely worth the splurge, especially if you’re looking for a science-backed formula you can easily integrate into your existing skincare routine.
