Chaos erupted behind the scenes during a high-profile meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in China, after a heated confrontation broke out between US and Chinese media personnel over access to the presidential motorcade.

According to reports, tensions escalated when US journalists attempted to join the motorcade accompanying President Trump following the bilateral meeting. The situation quickly turned confrontational as Chinese security personnel and media staff intervened, insisting that access protocols would be strictly enforced within Chinese jurisdiction.

A brief exchange captured during the incident showed a US reporter insisting, “Do you understand that we are in the motorcade with the President?” to which a Chinese reporter responded, “This is my country. Security on our side will not allow you to leave this area.” Another journalist was heard shouting, “We gotta move!”

Reports suggest the confrontation intensified as media representatives from both sides jostled for position near the presidential convoy. In the ensuing chaos, some US journalists were allegedly held in a separate room and prevented from joining the motorcade, while claims also emerged that a White House aide was accidentally trampled amid the rush.

It is further reported that a Secret Service agent was briefly blocked when attempting to secure his firearm during the disturbance, adding to the confusion surrounding the incident.

However, there has been no official confirmation from either the White House or Chinese authorities regarding the specific allegations made about injuries or detentions.
