In the traditional Chinese culture, timing is everything, especially when it comes childbirth. Rooted in ancient philosophies of Feng Shui and Chinese astrology, many families consult fortune tellers or Feng Shui masters to choose an “auspicious time and date” for delivery, especially when it comes to planned C-section births. It's believed that the date and time of the birth will map out a person's destiny, and therefore parents hoping to give their child the best start in life would do so.
However, the real good luck comes naturally, and can be on the spot at birthtime! According to “Wasted” on Instagram, a luck baby, J'Aime Brown was born to Johntez Brown and Rachel Langford in St. Louis, Missouri, USA on 7-Eleven Day (11 July) at 7:11 p.m., weighing exactly 7 lbs 11 oz, received an unexpected college fund gift from 7-Eleven in celebration of the “7/11 Day”, surprising her with a total of $7,111 (approx. RM30K) as her education funds!
Surprisingly, it wasn't just that! 7-Eleven was so caring to the extent where they even sent baby essentials along with a branded onesie, and treated her to a Slurpee~ According to her mother, she started noticing a pattern when she saw the numbers 7 and 11 throughout her pregnancy. "I thought it was weird at first, and I didn't know that (the numbers) meant so much," Rachel told CNN. “When they asked if I was interested, I was like, ‘Absolutely!’” Langford said. “I was completely shocked. I kind of just freaked out.”

This kind gesture of 7-Eleven meant a lot to the couple, yet sparked some discussions in the comments section. Some were jokingly saying that the baby girl is fated, claiming that “She is the chosen one, the one who will work at 7-eleven her whole life”, while some criticized that the amount of money is bare minimum and could probably only afford a few weeks of college fees in the US — “They should have added a few more zeros …. That’s his books for one semester”, “Cool so like a few weeks of college?”.

Well, nevertheless, I personally feel that they should be grateful that the “jackpot” came upon her birth. Now, does that mean that it's time for the crowd to plan birth for this great “fengshui” timing? Comment in the section below and let me know!
