For years, people in Kelantan have been complaining about the state’s poor water quality and even poorer state management. With only 71.7% of the 1.7 million people in Kelantan having access to clean water supply, unlimited teh tarik is a common sight on social media.

Upset with the apathetic attitude of local authorities to this issue, one netizen shared a video of how she ‘handled’ the situation during a visit to the local authorities.

In a video which featured the words, “When will our water woes be resolved?”, the video witnessed a women attempting to record her outburst at a local authority office, probably in charge of managing water in her area.

Basing her outburst on the fact that no water tankers came to her housing area after three days and three complaints, here is her story.

“We’ve had no water since Wednesday. I called in to report the matter for three days, but still they did not send water tankers to help out.”

“Even going to the toilet became a problem. Mind you, we have small kids to take care of.”

“Since it took them three days and still no assistance were given, I took it upon me to express my anger at their office.”

“Everyone has their limits.”

“All they could say to me was to be patient.”

Netizens commenting on the TikTok and social media was less than impressed with their response.

The mantra, “They’d rather buy Mercedes-Benzes instead of putting the people first” can be read in the comments section.

What are your thoughts on the matter? Can we start playing the blame game now?
