  • Thorpe Park is closing its Amity Beach waterpark attraction after nearly 35 years of operation.
  • The outdoor water play area, which opened in 1991, will be replaced by a new relaxation zone called 'The Launchpad'.
  • The Launchpad will feature seating and canopies, designed as a year-round space for visitors to rest and refuel between rides.
  • Amity Beach was primarily used by families with smaller children for paddling and cooling off, but it was only accessible on warmer days.
  • While the larger section of Amity Beach will be redeveloped, a smaller side with a sandy beach and splash pool will remain operational for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
