In a refreshing move, a Taiwanese content creator has garnered attention for canceling the traditional annual dinner and, instead, gifting each employee a generous RM1.5K angpow. The decision was not only to make the employees happier but also to create a positive work environment.
The employer expressed understanding that the annual dinner, often involving clients and bosses, could be stressful for the staff. To alleviate this, the management decided to distribute the allocated dinner budget evenly among all employees. Additionally, they announced the discontinuation of annual dinners moving forward.
In a Facebook post, the employer humorously suggested that the cancellation might be due to employees feeling unlucky in lucky draws during previous dinners. He assured everyone in the office, regardless of their tenure, that they would receive the same amount of angpow, emphasizing the commitment to creating an enjoyable workplace for all.
