
MANILA, Philippines — Thousands of Filipino Muslims gathered at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila for the observance of Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice, on Wednesday.
According to the Manila Police District (MPD), the traditional outdoor prayer began at around 4 a.m. with around 200 attendees, which later grew to about 700 by 5:50 a.m.
By 6:20 a.m., the estimated number of participants had surged to around 6,000 as the program continued.
The crowd later decreased to around 4,000 attendees by 7 a.m. before the event peacefully concluded at 7:14 a.m.
