Police in Port Dickson have apprehended three men in connection with an alleged child abuse case involving a six-year-old boy. The incident took place in Batu 4, Port Dickson, and the arrests were made to assist in the ongoing investigation.

Port Dickson district police chief, Superintendent Maslan Udin, disclosed that the case came to light on October 3, when a 67-year-old woman lodged a police report. She found the boy crying and bearing visible injuries at a house in the area. The woman, who was previously the boy’s caretaker, was deeply concerned about his well-being after discovering his condition.

According to preliminary investigations, the child is an orphan whose father had passed away. The boy's biological mother had abandoned him shortly after birth, leaving him in the care of others. Initially, the child was looked after by the complainant, who lived in Klang, Selangor. She took care of him until 2021, when the boy was handed over to an adoptive father.

While under the care of the complainant, the boy was reportedly in good health, and there were no signs of abuse or neglect. They maintained contact through video and phone calls, allowing the complainant to stay updated on the boy's situation. However, at the start of October, communication between the complainant and the boy was abruptly cut off, raising concerns about his well-being.

Worried about the boy's safety, the complainant’s son visited the adoptive father’s house. To his dismay, he found the child injured, crying, and lying naked on the floor. This shocking discovery led to immediate action by the authorities.

Based on the information received, police carried out separate raids and arrested three men, aged between 32 and 36, in two different locations: Taman Desa Rusa and Taman Dataran Segar Lukut, both in Port Dickson. The arrests took place in the early hours of October 3, around 3 a.m. and the boy was rescued during the operation.

Superintendent Maslan further revealed that background checks on the suspects uncovered troubling histories. All three individuals had prior criminal records, including drug-related offenses. One of the suspects also tested positive for methamphetamine following the arrest.

During initial questioning, it was discovered that one of the suspects had assaulted the boy. The suspect claimed that the child was stubborn and often urinated around the house, which allegedly led to the physical abuse. Weapons used in the abuse, including a rattan cane and a water heater, were seized by police as evidence.

The case is now being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, which deals with child abuse and neglect. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover further details and ensure justice is served for the young victim.
