Three dead, including child, in tragic two-vehicle collision in Rompin

THREE people, including a young girl, were killed in a two-vehicle collision on Jalan Muadzam Shah–Bahau near Bukit Serok this afternoon, authorities have confirmed.

The accident, which occurred at approximately 4.46pm, involved a four-wheel drive and a car carrying six individuals, including the child.

Public Relations Officer of the Pahang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Zulfadli Zakaria, stated that a team of six firefighters from the Muadzam Shah Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched immediately after receiving the emergency call.

“Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found that a car carrying one man, four women and a three-year-old girl had collided head-on with a four-wheel drive driven by a man,” he said in a media statement.

The car was travelling from Bahau, Negeri Sembilan, towards Muadzam Shah, while the four-wheel drive was heading in the opposite direction.

“As a result of the collision, one woman was trapped in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene,” he added.

All six surviving occupants, including the driver of the four-wheel drive, sustained injuries and were rushed to Muadzam Shah Hospital for treatment.

However, two additional victims – an 18-year-old woman and a three-year-old girl – later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital’s Emergency and Trauma Unit.

Rompin District Police Chief, Superintendent Sharif Shai Sharif Mondoi, confirmed the incident and said the identities of the deceased have not yet been determined.

“The relationship between the victims who died in the accident has also yet to be established,” he added.

The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to Muadzam Shah Hospital and will be sent to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) in Kuantan for post-mortem examinations. - August 25, 2025
