THREE female members of the Baling Civil Defence Force (APM) faced a challenge to capture a four-meter-long King Cobra that was hiding behind a narrow shelf in a house in Jalan Kampung Paya, Pekan Pulai, Baling.

Baling Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Mohd Faizol Ab Aziz said they received a distress call about the reptile sighting at around 6.40pm.

He said the caller informed them that a snake was spotted behind his house.

"Following that, three female and one male officer rushed to the location.

"The King Cobra, weighing 10 kilograms (kg) and measuring four meters in length, was successfully captured about 25 minutes later. It was later released into its natural habitat far from residential areas. – March 14, 2025
