SHAH ALAM: Three men were detained in a raid involving a syndicate suspected of illegally storing diesel worth about RM119,000 in Pandamaran, Klang, yesterday.

Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry Selangor state enforcement chief Mohd Hanizam Kechek said the 1 pm raid was conducted jointly with the police.

The raiding party uncovered rubber hoses for fuel transfer, skid tanks, a tanker lorry and a bonded lorry carrying 1,000-litre Intermediate Bulk Container tanks.

“Three local men aged below 40 were detained after being found around the premises during the raid. They are believed to be the lorry driver and attendant, as well as the caretaker of the premises.

“The three individuals were found to be without valid documents to possess and transport controlled goods, namely diesel and were detained for statement recording under the Control of Supplies Act 1961,” he said in a statement today.

Mohd Hanizam said the 25,000 litres of seized fuel, equipment and vehicles were worth a total of RM328,000.
