
KUALA PENYU: Three houses were destroyed in a fire that broke out early Monday in Kampung Kota Klias.
Kuala Penyu Fire and Rescue Station Chief Zulhalim Abidin said they received a distress call at 8.22am and immediately dispatched firefighters, with additional support from the Beaufort Fire and Rescue Station.
The team arrived at the scene, about 18 kilometres away, at 8.42am. The fire was brought under control by 9.19am, and the operation was concluded by 9.35am.
No casualties were reported. The cause of the fire and the estimated losses are still under investigation.
