
SANDAKAN: Three men believed to be Filipinos, including a 14-year-old boy, were brought before the Sessions Court and a special Magistrate’s chamber here Thursday over an incident in which a Sandakan Municipal Council enforcement officer was injured on March 6 at the Batu 8 market area.
Two adults, Putih Jiring, 35, and Aril Faustino, 28, were each charged under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for not possessing valid travel documents to enter Malaysia.
Both men pleaded guilty after the charges were read before Sessions Court Judge Roslinda Razali, who fixed April 23 for sentencing pending a report from the Immigration Department.
The 14-year-old, who faces a charge under Section 332 of the Penal Code for causing injury while obstructing a public servant from performing his duties, had his case mentioned in a special chamber before Magistrate Nur Faezah Jafry.
No bail was offered and all three were ordered to be remanded at Sandakan Prison pending the next mention dates, with Deputy Public Prosecutor Ong Teik Yi appearing for the prosecution.
