BEAUFORT: One of the three victims who was injured when their motorcycles skidded near the Pan Borneo project at Jalan Melalugus, here, at midnight last Tuesday lamented the lack of lighted signages to warn motorists plying the road.

Mohammad Johawalia said the road was slippery, causing his motorcycle to lost control and ended up in the drain. Initially he thought he was the only one who met with an accident but upon arriving at the hospital, found another motorcyclist who suffered similar fate.

Not long afterwards, another motorcyclist showed up for treatment for the same reason.

It was learnt that sand from a lorry had earlier spilled onto the road, causing it to be slippery. He lodged a police report against the Public Works Department (PWD).
