Three young Malaysians are honoured as QECT Young Leaders for 2026 for their outstanding social impact and community development work.
KUALA LUMPUR: Three Malaysians have been selected for the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth Trust (QECT) 100 Young Leaders Awards 2026.
The award recognises their significant contributions to social impact and community development across the Commonwealth.
The three honourees are Sarah Callista Ng Xue Qi, 19, from Kuala Lumpur, Ho Wei Liang (Liam), 27, from Johor Bahru, and Arissa Jemaima Ikram Ismail, 29, also from Kuala Lumpur.
Sarah is the founder and executive director of Hope2Kids, an organisation inspiring underprivileged children through self-development programmes.
Her work includes the ‘Letters of Hope’ initiative, which mobilised volunteers from over 11 countries to send personalised encouragement messages to children.
Liam is a technologist and the founder of Tech4SDG, focusing on using artificial intelligence for environmental sustainability and STEM education access.
He has mentored more than 1,200 youths and overseen over 80 technical projects while contributing to global platforms on AI governance and climate action.
Arissa Jemaima is the founder of Doctors on Ground, leading community health initiatives to improve care access for underserved populations through sustainable models.
Since 2020, she has led over 300 deployments and initiatives, working directly with communities to strengthen long-term healthcare systems.
The QECT was established by the late Queen Elizabeth II to support young leaders across the Commonwealth.
The 2026 award commemorates what would have been her 100th birthday by honouring changemakers in education, environment, health, and inclusion.
The award ceremony is scheduled for June 2026 at St. James’s Palace in London.
