Three more charged following Southampton violent protests

  • Three more people have been charged with violent disorder following protests in Southampton.
  • This brings the total number of people charged in connection with the disorder to 14.
  • Darren Medhurst, Jordan Hambleton, and Callum Darch are set to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
  • The protests occurred after Vickrum Digwa was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of 18-year-old Henry Nowak.
  • Public anger was exacerbated by police body-worn video showing Mr Nowak in handcuffs before he became unconscious and died, with claims his pleas of not breathing were ignored.
