Three politicians want me dead – Leachon

DESPITE his Philippine College of Physicians (PCP)-initiated six-month suspension, Dr. Anthony Leachon revealed on Tuesday that there were people who wanted him dead.

Leachon told The Manila Times via Viber that an unnamed intermediary called him, telling him to shut up “or else they will do the work, life, career, and the PRC (Philippine Regulatory Commission) card.”

“If anything happens to me, let it be clear: These three politicians are the primary suspects,” said Leachon, but stopped short of naming them.

“They will do the work to demolish me, including my PRC card. They will make my life miserable,” he added.

A known public health advocate and one of the top prosecution witnesses in the controversial Dengvaxia (banned anti-dengue vaccine) cases, Leachon previously said Dr. Kenneth Go, a former health undersecretary, was not alone in filing ethics complaints before the PCP.

Go served as spokesman for the complainants, who included other respondents in the pending Dengvaxia cases, among them (Iloilo) Rep. Janette Garin and former Department of Health officials facing criminal and civil cases arising from the Dengvaxia controversy, he said.

“I am facing the greatest battle of my life — defending the Filipino people. There are threats to my life and my career. These threats have been relayed to me through people, and I take them seriously,” Leachon said.
