
A three-year-old boy has died after falling through a hole in Victoria Bridge, Enggor while on holiday with his family.
IPOH: A three-year-old boy died after falling from Victoria Bridge in Enggor, Kuala Kangsar, yesterday afternoon.
Sungai Siput district police chief Superintendent A.W. Charan said police were alerted to the incident by a member of the public at 6.40 pm.
“The victim was believed to have been walking across the bridge holding his 41-year-old father’s hand when he reportedly fell through a hole in the bridge.
“His 41-year-old mother witnessed the fall. The child was rushed to Kuala Kangsar Hospital,” he said in a statement today.
Charan said the victim, the youngest of five siblings, was pronounced dead at 7.40 pm.
He said the family were in Kuala Kangsar on holiday and had visited Victoria Bridge to explore the area.
The case has been classified as sudden death and further investigations are under way.
