Several parts of the Hisar region witnessed a sudden downpour accompanied by thunderstorms on Monday, bringing much-needed relief from the ongoing heatwave. However, the storm also uprooted several trees and caused temporary disruptions in some areas.

According to an immediate forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at noon, thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds and dust storms with wind speeds of 40–60 kmph were likely over Hisar, Sirsa and Fatehabad districts.

The Department of Agricultural Meteorology at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University also issued a short-term forecast, predicting that during the next three hours, districts including Hisar, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri could experience strong winds accompanied by thunder and lightning, with the possibility of light rainfall at isolated places.

The forecast proved accurate as rain and dust storms swept through several areas. While the change in weather brought respite from the prevailing heat, strong gusty winds and reduced visibility led to temporary disruptions in affected areas.
