Thunderstorm warning for large parts of UK with hail and lightning on cards

• A yellow thunderstorm warning has been issued across Wales and large parts of England, including London, until 10pm Thursday, with heavy rain, hail and lightning forecast.
• Emergency services reported “significant flooding” overnight in Birmingham following heavy rainfall.
• The Environment Agency has issued 22 flood alerts across the Midlands and the South East of England as river levels swell.
• Some areas could see up to 75mm of rainfall within 12 hours, alongside warm temperatures reaching up to 28C.
• The Met Office forecasts continued unsettled weather with further rain and thunderstorms across the bank holiday weekend.
