Thunderstorm warning issued for multiple Malaysian states until 3 pm

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm warning for most states in Peninsular Malaysia and several areas in Sarawak until 3 pm today.

MetMalaysia stated that thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected over Perlis, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

Affected areas in Kedah include Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, and Kota Setar, while Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang, and Muallim are involved in Perak.

The warning also covers Kuala Nerus, Kuala Terengganu, and Kemaman in Terengganu, along with Cameron Highlands, Raub, Bentong, and Temerloh in Pahang.

Selangor districts of Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat, and Sepang are also expected to experience the same severe weather conditions.

Johor districts including Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru are included in the warning.

In Sarawak, the affected areas cover Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Betong, Sarikei, Meradong, Sibu, Manis, Daro, Matu, and Dalat. – Bernama
