MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in seven states, including parts of Perak, Selangor, and Johor, until 1pm today.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a severe weather warning for seven states.

The alert for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds is effective until 1pm today.

Affected areas in Peninsular Malaysia include parts of Perak, Pahang, Selangor, and Negeri Sembilan.

The states of Melaka and Johor are also expected to be impacted.

In East Malaysia, the warning covers several divisions in Sarawak.

Specifically, the alert applies to Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak in Perak.

In Pahang, the districts of Maran, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan, and Rompin are involved.

The Selangor districts affected are Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Kuala Langat, and Sepang.

In Negeri Sembilan, the warning is for Port Dickson.

The warning for Johor covers the districts of Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, and Pontian.

In Sarawak, the alert involves Kuching, Samarahan, and Sri Aman.
