Thunderstorms and heavy rain forecast for multiple states

Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in several states including Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya until 6pm today.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in several states until 6pm today.

The affected areas include Perlis and parts of Kedah, specifically Kubang Pasu, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu.

In Perak, the warning covers the districts of Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim.

The same conditions are expected in Selangor, affecting Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang.

Negeri Sembilan’s Seremban and Port Dickson districts, along with the entire state of Melaka, are also included in the warning.

In Johor, the alert applies to the Kulai and Kota Tinggi districts.

Meanwhile in Sarawak, the warning covers Sri Aman’s Lubok Antu sub-district, Sibu’s Selangau sub-district, Kapit, and Bintulu’s Tatau sub-district.
