MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds affecting nine states including Melaka, Kedah and Kelantan until 1 am.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds expected to affect several areas in nine states until 1 am.
In a statement, MetMalaysia said the warning covers the whole of Melaka, Baling in Kedah, Hulu Perak in Perak, as well as Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh and Kuala Krai in Kelantan.
The same weather conditions are also forecast for Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu and Marang in Terengganu, as well as Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub and Bentong in Pahang.
In Johor, the affected areas are Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Pontian and Johor Bahru.
Meanwhile, in Sabah, the warning covers Telupid, Kinabatangan and Sandakan, while in Sarawak it involves Beluru, Telang Usan, Miri and Marudi, as well as Limbang.
