KUALA LUMPUR, July 5 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds expected to hit Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and eight states until 4pm today.

MetMalaysia, in a statement, said the warning covers Kelantan (Jeli, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang), Terengganu (Besut, Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman), and Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Raub, Bentong, Pekan and Rompin).

The warning also applies to Selangor, involving the districts of Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang.

Adverse weather conditions are also forecast in Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban and Port Dickson) and Johor (Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru).

In Sabah, the affected areas are the interior (Sipitang, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort and Tambunan), the west coast (Papar, Penampang and Ranau), and Kudat (Kota Marudu).

Meanwhile, in Sarawak, the warning covers Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong (Pusa and Betong), Kapit (Song, Kapit and Bukit Mabong), and Limbang. — Bernama
