TIKTOK Shop, the e-commerce platform promoting Malaysian-made products from micro, small, and medium enterprises (SMEs) and local brands via TikTok Shop Mall, reported a year-on-year sales growth exceeding 130 percent during Ramadan and Eid this year.
The platform said in a statement today that the strong and inclusive growth momentum was driven by RM20 million in support through the #JomLokal Booster stimulus package, alongside ongoing investments to ensure a safe and secure shopping experience for all users.
TikTok Shop Malaysia Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships Nur Azre Abdul Aziz said the surge in sales among premium brands on the platform reflects growing consumer confidence and trust.
“Safety is our top priority, and TikTok Shop has invested nearly US$1 billion globally in tools, technology, and workforce to protect our community of buyers, sellers, and affiliate creators,” she said.
Since its launch in September 2025, the #JomLokal Booster package has covered commission waivers for over 5,000 SMEs, organised 14 workshops to enhance the skills of new sellers, and facilitated business matching that has generated more than 1,000 affiliate creators.
TikTok Shop also reported that between January and June 2025, the platform rejected over 70 million product listing attempts worldwide, representing a proactive removal rate exceeding 99.5 percent for items that violated its comprehensive policy guidelines.
Additionally, 1.4 million seller account applications globally were rejected for failing to meet strict standards.
In April 2025, TikTok Shop strengthened safety efforts with the launch of the #ShopSafe anti-fraud initiative, aimed at educating Malaysians on secure online shopping practices.
Entrepreneurs, SMEs, and local brands interested in joining the platform can register through the TikTok Shop Seller Centre and access step-by-step tutorials via the TikTok Shop Academy. - April 9, 2026
