PETALING JAYA: The new head of Sabah PKR has urged divisional leaders in the state to close ranks and focus on championing the rights of Sabahans.

Mustapha Sakmud, who took over the post from Sangkar Rasam yesterday, said it was not a special privilege for him to helm Sabah PKR but an important responsibility, Bernama reported.

“I urge PKR leaders all throughout Sabah to close ranks and unite under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership to uplift the dignity of the people and our beloved country,” the Sepanggar MP said.

Mustapha, who is also the deputy higher education minister, added that Sabah PKR would remain committed to ensuring political stability in the state until the state assembly is dissolved.
