KENINGAU: The stability of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS)-Pakatan Harapan (PH) State Government needs to be further strengthened through power sharing to ensure the development agenda at all levels can be implemented together.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) State Leadership Council (MPN) Chairman Datuk Dr Sangkar Rasam said this includes the appointment of grassroots leaders throughout the State.

“The Unity Government is made up of GRS and PH, and power sharing is needed at the grassroots level so that everything planned can be realised together.

“We don’t blame GRS for the appointment of grassroots leaders before because they ruled the State first before forming the current Unity Government.

Therefore, Sangkar hoped the State leadership led by Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor as GRS Chairman and also the Chief Minister, can take this approach to further strengthen the cooperation among the coalition parties that form the State Government.

“This is also to foster the people’s confidence in the ability of the leadership of the GRS-PH Unity Government to develop and prosper the State,” he added.

On the 2024 Budget allocations, he hoped development and implementation of projects could be increased in Sabah and Sarawak considering that these two states are still far behind in various aspects.

“This is in line with the Government’s efforts to eradicate hardcore poverty throughout the country,” he said.
