TMJ ‘invites’ graft busters to inspect JDT finances

KUALA LUMPUR – Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT)owner, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, has “invited” the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and interested football clubs to conduct a financial audit on the club, including on the sources of the Southern Tigers’ income and expenses.

The Johor crown prince made the invitation following allegations on Twitter that JDT players’ wages were paid by contractors.

Tunku Ismail has pointed out that the club is financed by sponsors, including himself and Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.

“The money is neither from the menteri besar nor the state government. What about your club?” he said in reply to the question posed by a Twitter user.

Nine-time Super League winners JDT have had a blistering start to the current league season – winning their first seven games, scoring 30 goals, and conceding just one. – Bernama, April 7, 2023
