TNB shuts off electricity in Kota Bharu and Bachok areas as safety precaution during floods, with potential for further power cuts

KOTA BHARU: Tenaga Nasional Berhad has cut electricity supply in several Kota Bharu and Bachok areas due to continuous rainfall and flooding.

The utility company implemented the shutdown as a safety precaution for users in affected locations.

In Kota Bharu, the power cut impacts Taman Bendahara and Pengkalan Chepa.

Bachok’s Wakaf Aik area is also experiencing electricity disruption.

“TNB also warns that further power cuts may be implemented at any electrical substations at risk if floodwater levels rise and pose a threat to safety,” the company stated.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant during heavy rainfall and potential flooding.

The public should keep important documents in safe locations during this period.

TNB thanked users for their patience and understanding regarding the power disruptions. – Bernama
