TNB deploys over 11,000 personnel and 136 mobile generators to guarantee electricity supply stability for a comfortable Aidilfitri across Peninsular Malaysia.
KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Berhad has implemented comprehensive measures to ensure a stable electricity supply for the Aidilfitri festive period.
The utility giant has activated an operational readiness plan, including nationwide network upgrades and continuous monitoring of critical assets.
More than 11,000 personnel will be on 24/7 standby on a rotational basis starting three days before Syawal.
TNB Senior Chief Network Officer Mahathir Nor Ismail said technical teams are prepared to take immediate action to restore any supply disruptions.
“This commitment is important to ensure that the public can make the necessary preparations and celebrate Aidilfitri with joy and comfort together with their loved ones,” he said.
The company has also positioned 136 mobile generators at strategic locations as a contingency measure.
A fleet of 379 support vehicles, including auger cranes and maintenance trucks, has been prepared for rapid response.
Additional mitigation efforts include load balancing initiatives and enhanced transformer capacity to stabilise the distribution network.
Mahathir extended festive greetings while advising the public to prioritise electrical safety and energy efficiency.
Recommended safety practices include ensuring appliances are in good condition and turning off the main switch before travelling.
He also advised against using mobile phones while they are charging.
For energy savings, the public is encouraged to maximise natural daylight and avoid simultaneous use of high-power appliances.
Setting air-conditioner temperatures between 24°C and 26°C and cleaning filters regularly can also optimise comfort.
Further safety tips and energy-saving guidance are available on TNB’s website and social media platforms.
