Amidst news of the BUDI95 subsidy being toned down to just 200 liters a month, TNG Digital, the folks behind TNG eWallet, have announced that they will be stepping in and introducing their own RON95 petrol subsidy initiative for all of their employees in Malaysia. This initiative will come into effect from 1 April onwards, and makes them the first private employer in Malaysia to do so.
This will form part of TNG Digital’s Care+ Initiatives, and will not come with a fixed quota. According to TNG Digital, this move is designed to ensure that their employees will continue to receive fuel subsidy support even after fully utilising the government’s BUDI95 subsidy. TNG Digital adds that this is a deliberate step to support their employees around real needs rather than just workplace benefits, and will ease everyday commuting for its employees.
It will cover all employees across all of its subsidies, and will even cover contract staff and interns too. Staff can find the subsidy integrated directly into their own TNG eWallet accounts via the BUDI95 feature, allowing them to refuel and manage their subsidy through the app without needing to go through an additional claims process.

“Our responsibility as a company goes beyond building products for millions of Malaysians. It extends to taking care of the people who build those products every day.
When something as essential as daily commute becomes a growing concern, we believe companies like ours should step forward and act. This initiative reflects the kind of company we are building, one that supports people in practical, meaningful ways,” – Alan Ni, TNG Digital CEO
TNG Digital’s Care+ Initiatives go beyond just the RON95 subsidy. They also include flexible working arrangements, work from anywhere arrangements, existing mileage claims for work-related travel as well as a fixed monthly allowance for public transport via My50 passes on the TNG eWallet app.
