Budweiser is celebrating America’s 250th birthday with a free beer giveaway.
The “America’s Tab” promotion was launched on June 29 and offers the chance to win a $6 gift card from Budweiser to go towards a cold one.
There are a couple of a catches, however, as the still-substantial “tab” runs to $150,000 which means there are only 25,000 vouchers up for grabs.
And anyone living in California and Texas is out of luck as residents of the two states are not eligible, according to Budweiser’s rules.
“Covering America’s tab is our way of turning gratitude into action: to thank the hardworking people who’ve made Budweiser part of everyday life, and to give them a chance to share a beer, reconnect and celebrate the resilience and spirit that have defined this country for generations,” Todd Allen, the senior vice president of Budweiser’s marketing at Anheuser-Busch, said in a press release.
Applicants need to be aged 21 and over and must provide their name, email address, birthdate and zipcode. To apply, Americans need to head to the Budweiser’s America’s Tab page.
Once verified, eligible participants will receive a digital gift card to purchase a draught beer.
Participants are eligible for only one reward, valued at $6 which is the average retail price of a 12-oz draught of Budweiser. The promotion is due to end July 5, the day after the Independence Day celebrations.
This year’s Fourth of July will mark the United States’ Semiquincentennial, or quarter millennium.

The Great American State Fair, a 16-day national exposition, was launched in Washington, D.C., in order to mark the U.S.’s birthday and to showcase the country’s states and territories.
However, a Reuters/Ipsos poll has revealed that one in five Americans will not mark Independence Day this year, including a quarter of Democrats and eight percent of Republicans.
