
SANDAKAN: A tense moment unfolded when a mother’s two-year-old son was accidentally locked inside a Toyota Hilux at the Petronas Batu 8 petrol station on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at around 12:39 pm while the mother was refuelling her vehicle.
Realising her child was locked inside, she immediately contacted the Sandakan District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) for assistance.

Arriving at 12:51 p.m., the team used specialised tools to unlock the vehicle and within just five minutes, the door was opened and the child was safely rescued without any injuries.
Meanwhile, Sandakan District Civil Defence Officer, Captain (PA) Sulaiman Salama, advised the public to always keep their car keys with them and to never leave young children unattended in vehicles to avoid such dangerous incidents.
