TOKYO, Sept 29 - Central Tokyo today recorded 34 consecutive days of rain, marking the longest streak on record, according to the weather agency, Kyodo News reported.
The area has recorded precipitation every day since August 27, with typhoons approaching during the period. The previous record was 33 consecutive days, from June 27 to July 29, 2019.
The heaviest rainfall during the current streak was 156 millimetres on September 21.
Rain is expected to continue until around Thursday, partly due to an autumn rain front.
