The Prince and Princess of Wales joined stars from Hollywood for the premiere of Digger, the latest movie featuring Tom Cruise.
Cruise offered a smile and remarked "great jacket" as William arrived in a tuxedo that featured an eye-catching double-breasted velvet jacket and bow tie on a carpet coloured black for the evening event.
Kate selected a purple Jenny Packham gown reaching the floor, paired with earrings from Diana, Princess of Wales, and an amethyst sautoir.
Screened at central London's Odeon Luxe Leicester Square, the premiere raised money for The Film and TV Charity, an organisation dedicated to establishing healthier and more supportive environments for industry workers.
Sir David Beckham, a friend of the main actor, attended the screening accompanied by his sons Romeo and Cruz.
The royal pair previously attended the UK screening of Cruise’s blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick back in 2022.
Digger is a dark satirical comedy focusing on a powerful oil tycoon attempting to prove his worth as humanity’s saviour following a massive environmental catastrophe caused by his company.
Welcoming the royals alongside director Alejandro G Iñárritu, Cruise listened as William recalled their prior encounter, remarking "the last time he was in a helmet and flying suit".
The US star was also seen holding Kate’s hand, assisting her down the steps towards the cinema screen.
William and Kate took a brief pause to pose alongside the Beckham family before entering.
Cast members Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Jesse Plemons and Emma D’Arcy spoke briefly with the royal couple ahead of the screening.
Hannah Waddingham, who featured with Cruise in 2025’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, was among the guests attending the premiere.
Organised by Warner Bros Pictures alongside the Film and TV Charity, the occasion was the 73rd royal film performance held by the organisation.
Money generated through the event will assist the charity in supporting individuals across cinema, television and the broader film industry.
This covers a 24-hour helpline, free counselling sessions, financial support grants, and mental health programmes aimed at encouraging safer and more supportive working conditions.
William and Kate also spoke with charity officials and individuals supported by its programmes.
Chloe Malone, 27, who experienced rough sleeping last year, is currently living in temporary housing and will study film production at the National Film and Television School through the organisation.
She discussed with William her passion to bring attention to "hidden homelessness" affecting women and creative professionals.
She later remarked that William seemed "obviously interested" in the issue, adding: "If we are hoping to end homelessness we need to understand the data to get an understanding of what has happened and appropriately tackle the issue."
