And he came off the bench last night for the U21s in a 2-1 win over Carlisle in the EFL Trophy.
Competition rules allow two players over the age of 21 who made 40 or more senior appearances before 2019-20 to play.
Huddlestone also came off the bench for the U21s last week in the 2-2 draw with Fulham in the Premier League 2.
