“Our beloved Mainstage has been severely damaged”

Each year, Tomorrowland (the world-famous electronic dance music festival) is known for its elaborate stage designs. This year’s main stage was built around a “melting ice” theme, featuring a massive mountain-like structure with a detailed, multi-level castle, according to The Nation.

A video that’s been making the rounds online shows thick black smoke rising from the festival grounds in Boom, Belgium, with fireworks going off in the background.

“Due to a serious incident and fire on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, our beloved Mainstage has been severely damaged. We can confirm that no one was injured during the incident.”

The cause of the fire remains unknown

Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is still unknown, but organisers have confirmed that the campsite will open today (July 17) as planned.

“We’re happy to announce that DreamVille will open tomorrow (Thursday, July 17) and will be ready to welcome all DreamVille visitors. All Global Journey activities in Brussels and Antwerp will also go ahead as scheduled,” they shared.
